oh, Beloved. That book was so so hard for me... and on me... as it should be, right? I don't think I could read it again. I'm glad to remember it, though, and to try Let Us Descend. Thank you, Lori!
Debbie, Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson set during the Revolutionary War has ghosts. Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes might be worth a read too(realistic fiction not HF). Dominoes is our game of choice when we visit my parents. Not sure we're as competitive as your family is. We want the Cake Recipes! Can we help with that in some way? I'm not sure what an RSS is. I don't mind the emails (not sure I'll remember to look at another site to find a reminder). Good read, this, as always.
Oh good. Thank you, Jennifer, for the book recs, and for feedback. YES, you could help with Cakes, lol, thank you. Let's take a mixaphorical bite on that project this summer, if you're game. It's mostly just pulling what we've got already in Chat, but it will be fun, and I will write up something and you can comment and share, maybe? We'll figure it out! RSS is old fashioned, I suppose... people used to make big-time use of feed readers to sub to content they wanted to read -- Google had one, before apps got so prolific and popular. You make a good point, though. Thanks. I hope you are in the home stretch with school --good luck!
Waving at you, Jolene, and welcome back! I hope the wee break was fruitful :> Thanks for the kind words. The new Malcolm book is truly stunning... as is everything Ibram Kendi writes. xo
All I can say at the moment is
that you are a treasure,
a crafter of words
and space
and imagination,
An inspiration
in a swirling world of
slapping one liners
A complete cake recipe
on this twirling, speed stuck on fastest
merry-go-round of
half-baked opinions.
I love you, truly! Thank you, Peggy. I feel the same way about you. Come back to ATL soon! We miss you already. xoxo
Ditto xoxo
Oh boy, thank you for this, Debbie. I feel as if I spent Sunday with you.
Let Us Descend by Jesmyn Ward has spirits (imagined or real? I can't remember. But it's a beautiful, brutal book.) And Beloved, of course.

Loved seeing and hearing about your kitchen and cooking, Debbie, and thanks for the link to the new book about Malcolm for young readers.
